On 19th January 2019, Amazon Prime Video India, on its official YouTube Channel, shared a 3 minute long video which tells the viewers about the upcoming amazon prime shows in 2020. In the video viewers will get glimpses of some of our favourite shows which make returns with new seasons and some clips of shows that will be completely new.
The Amazon Original series will be a mix of New shows on Amazon Prime, New Season of existing Shows and couple of unscripted shows that will be released on Amazon Prime Video this year. However, it is not known if they will all be released at once or periodically over the year.

1. PAATAL LOK
This year, Amazon Prime is set to bring a lot of new originals, and amongst them is Paatal Lok, this an upcoming Amazon Original show that will be released in 2020 which, by the look of it, seems like a crime-thriller series. And as per Gul Panag “, she is playing a role which she really enjoys” said in an interview. The writer of this upcoming Amazon Prime series is none other than Sudip Sharma who is backed by movies like Udta Punjab, and NH10.

2. THE FORGOTTEN ARMY
The Forgotten Army is said to be based on a real life of Indian citizens in the Indian National Army, led by Subhash Chandra Bose and is set to release on the 24th of January 2020, i.e. 2 days before the Republic Day. The show is created and directed by Kabir Khan who has movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Ek Tha Tiger under his belt. The series will see debutant Sharvari in pivotal role.

3. DILLI
Another new Indian series on Amazon Prime that will release in 2020 will be Dilli and will be a political drama. It is expected to show how the powerful politicians and people who wants to become politicians go around to gain power and control over the country’s government. The star cast of this web series is appealing to be said at least with Saif Ali Khan, Sunil Grover, and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles.

Gormint is another new show that is coming to Amazon Prime in 2020, and little did people know that it is written by the founding members of All India Bakchod (AIB) Ashish Shakya and Rohan Joshi. 5. THE LAST HOUR
The next upcoming amazon prime series in 2020 is The Last Hour, the video shared by Amazon Prime Video India did not share much about the series however, it is said that the series will be a crime thriller with some supernatural twist inside it. The series is produced by an Oscar-winning director.

6. BANDISH BANDITS
The upcoming Amazon Prime Show – Bandish Bandits – will revolve around Indian pop star Tamanna, and classical singer Radhe. The series will show how, despite having personalities which are poles apart, these two will go on a journey together to find out their difference and what they learn from one another. The music, to this series, is given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

7. MUMBAI DIARIES 26/11
As told by the name, this new show coming to Amazon Prime in 2020 will tell the horror that came to the people in Mumbai on the dreadful day – 26th November 2008. It will show the story from the eyes of the staff members of Cama & Albless hospital who not only try to save themselves but also numerous patients present in the hospital.

8. MIRZAPUR- SEASON 2
It is one of the most awaited upcoming amazon prime show in 2020. After Pankaj Tripathi made his debut on Instagram with a teaser of Mirzapur Season 2, on the 19th of January, Amazon Prime Video India also confirmed the return of the second season of Mirzapur in 2020. This returning amazon prime original series needs no introduction but in the clip we did see Golu pointing gun at Guddu who is on crutches, this only increases our excitement for the show. It is said that the series will pick up from where it ended in the first season, and will not be a prequel or a parallel storyline.

14. COMICSTAAN TAMIL

This season of Comicstaan is only for Tamil contestants and is expected to follow the same theme of the original one. The mentors/hosts are not revealed yet.
